Hendrik Lesser has been President of the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF) for over a decade, while building and running independent studios across Europe. He is the founder and CEO of Remote Control Productions (rcp), the Munich-based group he has grown into a family of around 20 development studios since 2005. Its first member studio, Chimera Entertainment, now employs over 80 people and has shipped 25 projects, including Angry Birds Epic and Songs of Silence. Hendrik is MD and board member of Games Bavaria Munich, co-founder and MD of Videospielkultur e.V., and a regular speaker and lecturer on games as culture in their own right. Most recently he founded Lesser Evil, a publishing label for politically engaged games, starting with Death From Above, set during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, for which he was Game Director. The conviction behind it drives his EGDF work too: games matter to Europe as culture and politics, not only as an industry.
