Rising Spaces

Hyper-Irrealism is a co-located VR experience by Pablo Dornhege and students at HTW Berlin. Up to eight visitors share the same physical and virtual space at once, moving freely with no controllers or teleporting. Your body is the interface.

The worlds are built from 3D scans of Berlin’s RAW-Gelände, a former railway works turned club and culture site whose future is now under threat. The scans are deliberately left unpolished, with gaps, rough geometry and baked-in lighting. Rather than recreating these spaces, the piece reimagines them as dreamlike fragments of club nights and memories. Visitors drift through eight short scenes (about 1–2 minutes each) together, which naturally sparks conversation about what they’re seeing.
